• Continue revising the manuscript (first priority ; 1-2 hrs/ per day)
• Continue searching OT seeker database to locate relevent articles - Key words : "randomized control trials" and "stroke"
• Continue the reading and organization of the definitions of 3 perspectives of ADL assessments - don't confuse the "mode of administration" with "meaning of study"
• English class: twice per week. Date and time to be announced.
• Clinical setting : 9 /30 (Wed) - 亞東
• Scheduled to go to 台中 on Oct. 1st (Thu) - the purposes of going to 台中:

1. Introduce the self -perceived difficulty scale to 筱文 and discuss with her about how to administer this scale
2. Get the feedback and comments from her
3. Experience exchange

• 9/22 萬芳 : 6 pts - 2 aphasia -1 in a rush = 3 pts
• 9/18 署北 : 7 pts - 1 aphasia - 1 refused - 2 in a rush = 3 pts

Subtotal for this week = 6 pts

Total : 132 pts

修改了部分量表的內容以及在 IADL 部分多增加了 病前有無從事 一欄 ，以便區分中風以前有從事的活動，現在因為中風而終止，和中風以前就沒有從事此項活動。

The difficulties that I have faced when writing " this" manuscript

1. 事先沒有做好 literature review, 沒有掌握到現在其他相關研究上所缺少的或需要加強的地方，以至於現在有 data ，可是卻抓不到自己想研究要表達的重點。
2. Data 及相關資訊的不足: 當初拿到的資料有 raw data 以及 descriptive statistics 的數據，自己寫研究的 paper 資歷真的真的太淺了，真的不知該如何從只有這兩個資料去寫這個 study的 results。
3. 自己對做研究這條路的知識真的太缺乏了太不足了，該如何完整的規劃一個研究 ─ 基礎真的太重要了。
4. 其實很想跟老師說的是 : 這個 manuscript 可不可以用qualitative study 來呈現 instead of quantitative study. The reasons are as following:

• 記得老師說過此 mansucript 我們最主要的不是想探討這個量表，而是個案本身的看法，我覺得對 "看法" 這種 topics 如用 qualitative study 會比較貼切。
• 在此我們只針對我們得到的 data 用 descriptive statistics 去分析 ，自己本身對 descriptive statistics 的理解是 " Descriptive statistics are used to describe the main features of a collection of data in quantitative terms. "
• " Descriptive statistics are distinguished from inferential statistics (or inductive statistics), in that descriptive statistics aim to quantitatively summarize a data set, rather than being used to support inferential statements about the population that the data are thought to represent. "
• 所以一直 stuck 在這裡，不知道該如何從 descriptive statistics 分析出來的數據去匯整寫出 results ，及討論。

這是我小小的想法，也許不符合實際，也或許像老師常說的在研究上我還太新太不成熟，還要學習的地方還太多太多，現在的我真的需要老師您的指點阿。

　

寫 / 修改 manuscript 的心得

自己承認自己在逃避修改 manuscript 的事實。我知道這種想法很不對，可是就覺得沒有 motivation。尤其看到這些 comments 回來時自己對寫 manuscript 的信心及意念更為低落了。甚至問自己做研究一定要寫 paper 嗎? 的這種蠢問題。
不知不覺記起剛來上班沒幾天和謝老師討論，老師講到一句話 : "台灣的學生可能聽、說、讀可能沒有你好，可是寫的能力絕對不比你差。" 雖然當初對這句話並沒有那麼在意，現在想想自己是真的得去面對該面對的現實。人要能成長我想第一步也是最重要的一步就是勇敢的去承認面對自己的不足及失敗。看清楚也明白了自己的缺點，下一步就是得跨出那一步→去想辦法改善自己的不足。希望自己能真的做到。
